Ohne Smartphone – Ente Auth für MFA einrichten / Set up Ente Auth for MFA

Schritt 0: Bitte achten Sie auf die korrekte Zeiteinstellung auf Ihrem Gerät.

Step 0: Please ensure that the time on your device is set correctly.

Schritt 1: Ente Authentifikator ist ein Open Source 2 Faktor Authentificator. Laden Sie es von dieser Seite herunter:

Step 1: Ente authenticator is an open source 2 factor authenticator. Download it from this page:

Schritt 2: Nach dem Download finden Sie die Installationsdatei in der Regel in Ordner Downloads. Mit einem Doppelklick starten Sie die Installation.

Step 2: After the download, you will usually find the installation file in the Downloads folder. Double-click to start the installation.

Schritt 3: Klicken Sie auf "Ausführen" um die Installation auszuführen. 

Step 3: Click on “Run” to execute the installation. 

Schritt 4: Für einen Rechner mit mehreren Benutzerkonten kann das Programm mit einem Klick auf "Install for all users" für alle Konten installiert werden.

Step 4: For a computer with several user accounts, the program can be installed for all accounts by clicking on “Install for all users”.

Schritt 5: Klicken Sie auf "Next" um das Programm im vorgeschlagenen Ordner zu installieren.

Step 5: Click on “Next” to install the program in the suggested folder.

Schritt 6:  Setzen Sie das Häkchen bei "Create a desktop short cut", damit Sie ein Icon auf dem Desktop erhalten. 

Step 6: Check the “Create a desktop short cut” box to create an icon on the desktop. 

Schritt 7: Mit einen Klick auf "Install" wird die Installation nun ausgeführt.

Step 7: Click on “Install” to start the installation.

Schritt 8: Mit "Finish" beenden Sie das Installations Setup.

Step 8: Click “Finish” to end the installation setup.

Schritt 9: Nach dem Starten des Programms können Sie nun einen MFA Token erzeugen.

Step 9: After starting the program, you can now generate an MFA token.

Schritt 10:  Starten Sie die MFA Seite: https://mfa.hhu.de/ und Klicken Sie auf "Anmelden, um den Schutz meines HHU-Konto zu erhöhen"

Step 10: Start the MFA page: https://mfa.hhu.de/ and click on “Sign in to increase the protection of my HHU account”

Schritt 11:  Tragen Sie Ihre Unikennung und das Passwort ein und klicken sie auf "Anmelden".

Step 11: Enter your user ID and password and click on “Log in”.

Schritt 12: Klicken Sie auf "Akzeptieren". Sollten Sie bereits MFA eingerichtet haben folgt nun die Abfragen nach Ihrem 2. Faktor.

Step 12: Click on “Accept”. If you have already set up MFA, you will now be asked for your 2nd factor.

Schritt 13:  Wählen Sie Schutz durch Einmal-Passwort aktivieren. 

Step 13: Select Enable one-time password protection. 

Schritt 14:  Setzen Sie ein Häkchen bei "Ich habe eine der empfohlenen Apps zur Bereitstellung kurzzeitig gültiger Einmal-Passwörter installiert und geöffnet." und legen Sie danach einen Namen für diesen 2. Faktor fest. Den Namen bekommen Sie später immer bei der Auswahl Ihrer Faktoren angezeigt, 

Step 14: Check the box “I have installed and opened one of the recommended apps for providing temporary one-time passwords” and then specify a name for this 2nd factor, you will always see the name later when selecting your factors, 

Schritt 15: Kopieren Sie nun den angezeigten Schlüssel in die Zwischenablage und wechseln Sie dann wieder in das Programm Ente Auth.

Step 15: Now copy the displayed key to the clipboard and then switch back to the Ente Auth program.

Schritt 16: Fügen Sie den kopierten Schlüssel unter "Geheimnis" in dem Programm Ente Auth ein und tragen Sie unter "Aussteller" einen Namen ein. Die anderen Felder bleiben leer. Klicken Sie auf speichern. 

Step 16: Paste the copied key under “Secret” in the Ente Auth program and enter a name under “Issuer”. The other fields remain empty. Click on save. 

Schritt 17: Merken Sie sich den 6-stelligen Code, der Ihnen angezeigt wird.

Step 17: Memorize the 6-digit code that is displayed.

Schritt 18: Wechseln Sie wieder auf die MFA Seite und tragen Sie den Code unter Einmal-Passwort aus der App auf Ihrem Smartphone (eine Zahl mit 6 Stellen) ein und bestätigen Sie mit "Einmal-Passwort überprüfen"

Step 18: Switch back to the MFA page and enter the code under One-time password from the app on your smartphone (a number with 6 digits) and confirm with “Check one-time password”

Schritt: 19: Nun wird Ihnen wieder der Startbildschirm der MFA Seite angezeigt und Sie sehen Ihren neuen 2. Faktor (Token). 

Step: 19: The start screen of the MFA page will now be displayed again and you will see your new 2nd factor (token).
